I don’t exactly know how she got to my studio class, but four weeks later she was still around. Jennifer is one of my bigger students, very dedicated to her practice. And she comes all the way from Ikeja. I have noticed some distinct changes on her body. And when I asked her, she said “Yoga helps … and my husband likes what he sees. If you understand what I mean”.

I think the biggest frustration is when we can’t go deep enough. A single private or group class often doesn’t allow enough space to go deeper and explain things further.

Within three or four months a client from Ikoyi got cured from a numb finger and a stiff wrist, and on top of that lost four kilos. Another client, who lives in Lekki, experienced something similar: Within a period of two months she started taking healthier lunch packages to work. Today she feels more balanced and her love-handles are melting away. One of my clients living in Victoria Island stopped eating meat. Thank God she didn’t lose weight though.

Yoga helps you re-create a well-balanced life: You start to drink more water definitely because Chi says so at the end of each session. But especially because you feel like it. You start to crave healthy foods and stop late dinners. And you feel less stressed.

You have not started a particular diet, you have simply begun to practice and have become more receptive. You finally listen to your body’s needs and have stopped ignoring its signs of imbalance.
